This day and age

Everyone tells me
To relax
And try not to try so hard.
They tell me that just
when I’m not looking
For anything or anyone
I will meet that special someone.
Ok, I say to myself
That’s sound advice.
And I try not to look,
Or even think about the fact
That I want someone special
In my life
So very much.
But
there’s that little voice in my ear
that asks
when,
where,
will I meet that special person?
because I don’t believe
that it will just happen.
There are so few women
Who will approach a man
In this day and age.
