Walk away

“Its been too long,” I’ll say, if I can speak at all.
I’ll look at you, really look at you.
I’ll watch you smile and watch your eyes
and ask you how you are.
if you’re great, or even really good,
I’ll walk away happy.
But if you pause, needing time to consider,
If you watch me smile and look in my eyes,
And only say you’re OK or you could be better,
I’ll never walk away again.
