I write every night

I write every night.
Drinking
And smoking.
I write about you
And I write about me.
I haven’t written about
Everything else
For a very long time.
A beer
A cigarette
A poem
They all seem good
To me.
But I am biased.
I know where each word
Of every poem
Comes from
And how hard they are
To write.
I write about you
And I write about me
Every night.
I read these poems
Over and over
And I know just what I felt
When I wrote them.
